Once formless and known as Maku, Scratch emerged from The Depths, transforming into a sea turtle before mastering the arts of Senpai Yokai. His journey led him to unite with Mix and Fade, forming a legendary trio. Together, they collaborated with Melodee—who first appeared as the waterwheel in the sky before transforming into a Kujira Yokai—to construct the Sensuikan, an underwater spaceship designed to navigate the great flood and restore lost artistic and musical Yokai.

Scratch commands subsonic music fused with a precise ability to hit the mark and scratch out negative vibes. He can scratch in new, infused, and inspired ideas, resampling ancient flow-based vibrational patterns and soul grooves to:

Inspired and transformed by Kabooki, the Gaku musical mech Yokai, Scratch invented the art of Turntablism, creating Hip Hop’s foundation as we know it today.
